Documentary storytelling for new media
As a documentary team, we specialize in stories about people, nature and climate change. In addition to our personal project, Facing Climate Change, we help nonprofits, media organizations and other clients tell important stories through photography, multimedia and Web design.
Photography
Whether documenting a new initiative, personalizing scientific projections or bringing to life an organization's mission, we create compelling imagery to engage audiences with your story. In recent years, Benj has followed and photographed trumpet players and reindeer herders, law conferences and wildfires, and programs for high-school students and prisoners. Throughout, he remains dedicated to crafting a strong and vivid story with a deep sense of place.
Benj's work has appeared in National Geographic, Mother Jones and PDN and been exhibited at more than a dozen events and venues including the Houston Center for Photography and the Ansel Adams / Mumm Napa Fine Art Gallery. In 2009 he joined Aurora and GHG Photos and was selected as a Flash Forward emerging photographer by the Magenta Foundation. Benj is based in Seattle, Washington and available for assignment world wide.

Multimedia
Multimedia combines radio-quality audio (storytelling, interviews and ambient sound) with the power of still photography. Built upon the same foundation of strong reporting and clear communication as print and radio journalism, Web-based multimedia presents an increasingly exciting opportunity to reach new audiences on a global scale. Not only does this form of storytelling give voice to its subjects, but it can just as easily captivate a live audience as spread virally across the Web.
We are an agile, two-person team with ten years of experience collecting stories together in the field. Sara works as the field producer and audio engineer, while Benj collects images and video. (We occasionally change things up, too.) Clients find that our combination of photographs, audio and video provides an efficient and flexible toolbox for producing a variety of media products from annual reports, to live presentations to Web sites.

Web design
Many organizations find that they don't just need fresh images, they need a whole new platform to share their story. A modern and flexible Web site is an essential communication tool and we can help tell your story through a custom designed Web presence. Our specialty is creating beautiful, easy to use Web sites using a robust, user-controlled content management system (CMS). Our projects can include:

all built on an open source CMS such as Wordpress or Drupal.
