Orion has long been the literary and visual nexus between people and nature, and one of our favorite publications. We are honored to announce that a portfolio of our work with Sámi reindeer herdsmen is in their current issue. You may remember that last March we attended the Our World portfolio review hosted by PhotoAlliance and co-sponsored by Orion. Thirty-five reviewers and more than sixty artists from across the country participated. A select subcommittee of reviewers from various backgrounds granted the inaugural Orion/PhotoAlliance Award to our project. According to the article, “The committee’s decision was unanimous. ‘We see a lot of global warming projects,’ said Orion picture editor Jason Houston. ‘Facing Climate Change stands out not only at this review, but among them all.’”
